Super Polymerization discards one card as cost, then Fusion Summons from your Extra Deck using suitable monsters from either field. Neither player can activate a card or effect directly in response to its activation. That restriction does not remove material requirements, existing continuous effects or restrictions on your Special Summons.

The essential question is whether your Extra Deck contains a Fusion Monster that can legally be summoned from the available materials. “The opponent has two monsters” is not enough. Their characteristics and the Fusion Monster's material line determine whether the proposed removal can actually happen.

Read the candidate Fusion Monster's material requirement and its summoning restrictions. Some require specific names, Attributes, Types or other characteristics. Others include restrictions on the way they must be summoned. An attractive generic description in a deck guide does not override that printed information.

Use a hypothetical candidate requiring two monsters with the same Attribute but different Types. Two monsters with different Attributes fail even if both belong to different Types. Two monsters sharing both Attribute and Type fail the other condition. Each required part of the material line must be true together.

Confirm that the Fusion Monster is actually in your Extra Deck and that you can perform the Special Summon. A remembered card from an earlier version of your list is not a legal destination. Likewise, a restriction limiting you to a particular archetype, Type or Attribute can prevent using a candidate that otherwise matches the field.

Discard one card as activation cost

The discard occurs when you activate Super Polymerization, before its effect resolves. It is not a discard performed by the resolving effect. A card requiring being discarded by an effect therefore needs its condition checked carefully before you expect a benefit from paying this cost.

You need another card in your hand that can pay the discard. Activating the Spell does not make it available to discard as its own payment. A powerful planned Fusion is irrelevant if your hand contains only Super Polymerization and no eligible card to discard.

The cost is committed even if a legal activation later fails to achieve the hoped-for result. Do not retrieve the discarded card because an existing effect interferes with the Fusion Summon. Payment and successful resolution are separate questions throughout Yu-Gi-Oh!, and this card's response restriction does not merge them.

Either field is different from any zone

Super Polymerization can use suitable monsters from your field, the opponent's field or a combination. It does not normally use cards from either player's hand, Deck or Graveyard. A separate Fusion effect with wider access does not extend this card's source zones.

You do not need a universal rule saying one material must be yours. The actual material requirement and available monsters determine the selection. If a candidate can legally use only opposing monsters, the effect's wording can permit that selection; if it needs one of your cards, you must supply it.

The response restriction applies to both players

Neither player can activate a card or effect in response to Super Polymerization's activation. That includes the player who activated it; you do not gain a private response window to add a helpful effect after paying the discard. The exact scope is a direct response to that activation.

This prevents an ordinary attempted negation from being chained directly to it. Do not describe the card as “a Spell Speed 4 card,” because that invented speed is not its rules category. It remains a Quick-Play Spell with a specific restriction printed in its text.

After the Chain has resolved, later legal activations are not permanently prohibited. Triggers resulting from the Fusion Summon or materials reaching a relevant zone can have their appropriate subsequent procedure. The restriction on responding to this Spell's activation does not erase every event the resolution created.

Existing effects still matter

A continuous effect already applying does not need to activate in response in order to affect the game. If it prevents a relevant Special Summon or makes the opposing monster unaffected by this Spell effect, the inability to chain a new card does not remove that existing restriction.

For example, a previously established restriction allowing you to Special Summon only a particular Type remains a restriction when you activate Super Polymerization. A candidate of another Type is not suddenly legal because the opponent has no response opportunity. Inspect your own turn's resolved restrictions before treating the card as unrestricted removal.

Similarly, check the exact scope of immunity. A monster unaffected by Monster effects presents a different question from one unaffected by Spell effects. Super Polymerization is a Spell effect, so the words describing the protection matter. Do not reduce every protected monster to the vague label “immune.”

Targeting and destruction protection are separate

The Fusion procedure does not target the chosen materials through Super Polymerization's text, and using a monster as Fusion Material is not ordinarily destroying it. Protection specifically against targeting or destruction does not automatically cover this different action.

That distinction helps explain its use against some resistant boards. It does not justify the stronger claim that it bypasses all protection. An effect preventing use as Fusion Material or an applicable immunity can still change the legal choices. Keep the protected action in the monster's text aligned with the action the Spell is performing.

When practising, compare three hypothetical protections: cannot be targeted, cannot be destroyed by effects, and unaffected by Spell effects. Do not assume those sentences are synonyms. Ask which one directly interferes with the effect's attempt to use the monster, while maintaining the candidate Fusion's material requirements.

Face-down monsters and information

Your own face-down monsters can be relevant to Fusion procedures where their known characteristics are permitted to be used. Opposing face-down monsters are a different information situation. You cannot freely consult their hidden characteristics to claim that they satisfy a required Attribute, Type or name.

Do not demand that an opponent reveal a Set monster merely because you hope to use it. Before activating, identify a valid selection through the applicable rules and information you are allowed to use. A guess based on an earlier search is not a general permission to treat the hidden card as publicly eligible.

Tokens and cards with specific material restrictions also need individual checks. A Token may be usable for a suitable Fusion in some circumstances, but a restriction preventing its use overrides a casual “all monsters count” assumption. Read the Token's source and the relevant Fusion line rather than borrowing an Xyz-material rule.

Quick-Play timing still applies

The no-response clause does not allow activation at every moment. From your hand, use the ordinary legal timing for a Quick-Play Spell during your turn. To use a Set copy during the opponent's turn, follow the rules governing Set Spells, including the restriction on activating it in the turn it was Set.

You also cannot ordinarily use Super Polymerization during the Damage Step simply because its intended Fusion has high ATK. An effect's eventual battlefield result is not a general Damage Step permission. Use the actual category and the allowed activation rules for that specialised window.

Before a match, practise a legal Main Phase activation and a legal opponent-turn activation with a previously Set copy. Then deliberately test a forbidden same-turn Set activation. Separating timing from response restrictions prevents a very strong card from being granted powers it does not have.

Choose Extra Deck slots for plausible materials

If you buy Super Polymerization for a deck, plan the candidate Fusions too. A Spell with no applicable Extra Deck destination cannot perform its intended function. Compare material requirements with boards you realistically expect rather than collecting many impressive Fusions without a reason to include them.

Write a small reference for each candidate: required materials, available zones, your own summoning restrictions and any relevant opposing protection. For a tournament in Spain, check current TCG legality before purchasing the complete package. No current price or universal competitive ranking is needed to make this practical preparation useful.

Frequently asked questions

Can my opponent chain a normal negation directly to it?

Its text prohibits either player from activating cards or effects in response to the activation. Existing continuous restrictions still apply, so inability to chain is not the same as guaranteed successful resolution.

Must I use one of my own monsters?

Not as a universal requirement of Super Polymerization. Use monsters from either field that satisfy the selected Fusion Monster's actual material line and all applicable restrictions.

Does it destroy the opposing Fusion Materials?

Using them as Fusion Materials is a different action from destruction. Destruction protection alone does not decide the interaction; check material restrictions and immunity to the relevant effect separately.
